چکیده

• Fast and convenient imaging of the retina by a photographer • Storage, archiving, and transmission of the images • Use of the images for quality assurance (that is, having them checked by another person) to ensure that no cases of retinopathy go undetected • Ability to enhance images – magnification, red-free, enhanced contrast, etc. When using the Scottish Grading Protocol2, just one retinal photograph is taken, which is centred on the fovea. The field must extend at least 2 disc diameters (DD) temporal to the fovea and 1DD nasal to the disc for adequate visualisation.

Validation of automated screening for referable diabetic retinopathy with the IDx‐DR device in the Hoorn Diabetes Care System

PURPOSE To increase the efficiency of retinal image grading, algorithms for automated grading have been developed, such as the IDx-DR 2.0 device. We aimed to determine the ability of this device, incorporated in clinical work flow, to detect retinopathy in persons with type 2 diabetes. METHODS Retinal images of persons treated by the Hoorn Diabetes Care System (DCS) were graded by the IDx-DR ...

Analysis of Foveal Avascular Zone in Color Fundus Image for Grading of Diabetic Retinopathy

An enlargement of foveal avascular zone (FAZ) is usually found in eyes with diabetic retinopathy (DR) resulting from a loss of capillaries in the perifoveal capillary network. Currently it is difficult to discern the FAZ area and to measure FAZ enlargement in an objective manner based on raw color fundus images. Instead, ophthalmologists observe and record the occurrences of DR pathologies for ...
